Our Love Dare: Angie's Journal: Day 7 (Yay!!)

Angie is a work at home mom to 5. She runs 3 businesses, homeschools her two oldest children, is very active in her church, and dedicates her life to service - of her God, her family, her friends, and her clients. Her current business ventures include Angela Vinez Studio and Gallery, Angela Vinez Design Services, and Buy By Mom. She also blogs daily on 5 Vinez Monkeys.

Angie saw the movie Fireproof in the theater with her husband. From that moment on, God put the desire in her heart to do the Love Dare Challenge, but the timing never seemed right. Until now. She is praying daily that God will use this challenge to build and strengthen her marriage. ___________________________________________________

Suzi is a work at home mom of three children. Formerly a Public Information Director for a municipal government, she quit her job to move to the country and raise her children with her husband, Steve. Suzi runs two online businesses— Suzi Homemaker and Babycapes and two blogs-- Suzi Homemaker Blog and Babycapes Official Blog, and does a lot of volunteer work through her children’s school and at church.

Suzi and Steve began attending church on a regular basis this past fall after a 20+ year lapse. They tried many churches in their community before settling on a God-centered Baptist church in a neighboring town. During a recent service regarding how you live your life publicly as opposed to how you live it at home, Suzi realized that she was giving the best of herself to the community and saving the worst for her family. After watching the movie “Fireproof” with her husband, she realized she needed to make some changes. Rather than applying the Love Dare to just her relationship with her husband, she also is going to apply it to her relationships with her children. ___________________________________________________

Jennifer Rogers is an inspirational freelance writer and the owner and founder of Moms United in Business, LLC. Aside from her husband and her family, her work is her passion. She is a wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend. Jennifer is a woman with extraordinary passion and drive. She believes in the power of prayer, and believes in miracles. Jennifer's husband and her four children are her greatest blessings and a constant source of inspiration.

Jenn decided to take the Love Dare Challenge after finding out about the movie Fireproof from her dear friend Angie Vinez. Both Jenn and her husband watched the movie together and were inspired to take on the challenge together, to keep their marriage strong with a desire to make it even stronger based on biblical principles. ___________________________________________________

Robin is a born again Christian who loves the Lord with all of her being. She has been happily married to Tony since 1996 and a mom to Rebecca(12) and to Tami and Timothy who are waiting on us in Heaven. We are active in church and love to serve the Lord. She currently works part time at my folks home doing call center work. You can find her blog here.

After reading the book and seeing the movie "Fireproof" Robin knew that while her marriage is good that it could be better. There are some areas in which she does not show my husband the respect he deserves and also focuses on herself rather than him and others. She intends to use the Love Dare not only to improve my relationship with her husband but also her daughter and the rest of her family and friends. Also doing the Love Dare to grow closer to the most important relationship to her and that is her walk with her Heavenly Father! ___________________________________________________

Kimberly recently graduated with her degree in Early Childhood Education. She is currently a housewife looking for a job. Kimberly and her husband, Aaron, have been marreid for a little over a year and a half and have been together since 2003. We have grown a lot individually and together over the years. Currently, we have not found a church that we can call our own. We travel a lot on weekends so that we can see our families and will attend chuch with them when we visit.

Kimberly has always had the strong desire to seek guidance in building a strong marriage. She has been reading "The Five Love Languages" and has encouraged her husband into also checking it out. Although she still has not seen the movie "Fireproof", she feels the Love Dare Challenge is something that would benefit her marriage and her life.

Angie's Journal: Day 7 (Yay!!)

Today's Dare talked about 2 different rooms we hold inside: The Appreciation Room, and the Depreciation Room. The challenge was to find out which room we are spending more time in.

We were told to take 2 pieces of paper. One the first sheet, we were to spend a few minutes writing down the positive things about our spouse. On the second sheet, we were to list the negative things about them.

My positive list about Gene was lengthy. In fact, it covered the entire front and back of the page. I really am so lucky to have him in my life. I won't bore you with the entire list, but some of the things listed included the following:

Patient
Kind
Hard working
Genuine
loving husband and father
quick to forgive
thoughtful
humble

Then, it came time to write the negatives. It took me FOREVER to come up with any thing. I really, really struggled to write this list.

I ended up listing 2 things. And they are silly little things at that.

We were then supposed to thank our spouse for something on the positive list later in the day. While he was at work this evening, I sent him a text message and thanked him for being so hard working. He always gives his all, and I'm proud to be his wife.

Now to hide the lists and see what's in store for them!
